Honor Among Thieves by: James S. A. Corey

Reviewed by Rebekah This book takes place in the Star Wars universe. It is written from the perspective of Han Solo, who has been tasked with the dangerous mission of rescuing a spy. While I am very interested in Star Wars and have seen the movies, I don’t know a whole lot about it, especially the books. So, I don’t know if this is a standalone novel or if it's part of a series. Despite my lack of Star Wars knowledge I really enjoyed reading this book and will be reading any more Star Wars books that I come across.  The plot was very well thought out and took a few turns that I did not expect. I definitely recommend reading this book.

Tigerheart's Shadow by: Erin Hunter

Reviewed by Rebekah I don’t have very much to day about this book. I didn’t find it overly interesting. I really wanted to read it when I first got it, but finishing it was a challenge. I really liked the warrior series and have read every book that has come out. I just don’t find them all that interesting anymore. This book is about a cat named Tigerheart. His life is terrible and he needs to fix it. His clan, Shadowclan, has lost all but a few of its members. The members left are starting to doubt the decisions of their leader, Rowanstar. A new clan has come to the forest and has taken some of Shadowclans territory. Tigerheart is also in love with a cat from another clan, and that isn’t allowed. Overall it was a good book, I, personally, wasn’t captivated by it.

Fahrenheit 451 By Ray Bradbury

Reviewed by Rebekah     ℉ I was mildly disappointed by this novel. I've heard a lot of good things about this book and about the author so I thought I'd try it out. The story is set in a futuristic USA. A lot of things have changed, the whole world is quite different. Homes have become fire resistant meaning that there was no need for firefighters. Until books were banned. The narrator followed the life of Guy Montag. Guy is a firefighter who burns books almost everyday. He is a model citizen. When Guy meets a young girl named Clarisse, he learns that books might not be a bad thing. The narration was different from what I'm used to reading, and, although reading something from a new angle is interesting, I'm not sure how much I liked reading from this point of view. The ideas and storyline were interesting and I think that the time in which it takes place and the things that the author thought might happen were really cool to read about. Overall, this book

Unwanteds: Quests By Lisa McMann

Image
Review by Rebekah This book is the start of a new story line that takes place in the same world as the Unwanteds series. The book features features Fifer and Thisbe, twin girls who live in the magical world of Artimè. Both girls have very impressive, but highly destructive powers. They need to prove to their older brother and ruler of Artimè, Alex, that they are ready for magical training. When a dragon arrives on the shore of Artimè asking for help, Thisbe and Fifer jump on the opportunity. Along with their best friend Seth, Thisbe and Fifer travel to the Island of Dragons to rescue the young dragons who are being held captive. It's a very dangerous quest and going with out permission will surely worry and anger Alex, but the girls are willing to do anything to prove themselves worthy of magical training. I enjoyed reading this book but not nearly as much as I enjoyed reading the Unwanteds series. The end of the Unwanteds felt complete and didn't leave me wishing for

A Wrinkle in Time - Book Report

Image
After reading A Wrinkle in Time, as a novel study, I decided to make a visual book report. Above is a picture of what I made. It depicts the what Meg, Charles Wallace and Calvin see when the arrive on the planet Camazotz. Here is what I wrote about it:  Megs father is trapped on the evil planet of Camazotz. After Mrs. Whasit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which drop Meg, Charles Wallace and Calvin off on the planet, they are left to discover how the planet works. It doesn’t take long for the trio to reach a city, but they soon notice something peculiar about it. Every single house looks the same, with the same grey paint colour, the same amount of windows and the same flowers lining the walkways. They also notice that everyone does the exact same thing at the exact same time. Each child bounces a ball at the exact same rhythm, and each mother calls the children inside at the same time. Meg, Charles Wallace and Calvin soon discover the reasoning behind the odd behavior o

Space Exploration Timeline

Image
I decided that I wanted to make a timeline of all of the interesting things that have happened and all of the breakthroughs we've had in space exploration. Of course, there are so many things that have happened over the hundreds of years that humans have been exploring space and studying the stars that I would never be able to fit everything on a single timeline. So I chose some of the biggest things that have happened, such as the first artificial satellite and the discovery that the planets rotate around the sun, and put them on my timeline of space exploration. It was a really fun project to do and I definitely learned a lot about space discoveries while doing this project! - Rebekah
